While climbing Uluru is now off-limits, walking around its base offers a full view of this sacred site. The 10-kilometer Uluru base walk features interpretive signs about its cultural significance, geological formation, and local flora and fauna. You'll learn about the Anangu people, the traditional owners, and see historically important rock art. The Mutitjulu Waterhole, another highlight, is culturally significant and off-limits for swimming.

For a shorter experience, consider the 2-kilometer walk with an Anangu ranger, departing from Mala car park at 8 AM between October and April, and 10 AM between May and September. This 90-minute tour, included with your ticket, immerses you in the history and traditions of Uluru, and contemporary Anangu life and culture.

A visit to Uluru is unforgettable, offering beauty and spiritual significance. Wear sunscreen, a hat, bring water, and wear comfortable shoes, as the walks can be strenuous. Remember to respect the site's cultural significance and follow park guidelines.
