Discover Main Location Page

The Devils Marbles, or Karlu Karlu, are a geological marvel in northern Australia, attracting all visitors. These iconic granite boulders, shaped by nature over millions of years, are a testament to natural forces and the rich cultural heritage of the region. Their smooth, rounded forms seem almost otherworldly, especially with their unique balance.

For the Aboriginal people, Karlu Karlu holds deep spiritual significance. The Alayawarre, Kayteye, Warumunga, and Warlpiri peoples consider the site a sacred meeting place. An interpretive walk provides insights into the Dreamtime stories associated with the Marbles, deepening the appreciation for the cultural importance of this place.

To fully immerse yourself, the best time to visit is sunrise or sunset. Consider camping in the Devils Marbles Conservation Area, which offers budget-friendly options with basic facilities. Alternatively, the free camp at Bonney Well, located about 10 minutes away, provides a more secluded experience.
