Undoubtedly one of Tasmania's most iconic walks, the 6-kilometre loop around Dove Lake offers an unforgettable journey through pristine wilderness. The walk is relatively easy, making it accessible to hikers of all fitness levels. Much of the track is boardwalk, ensuring a comfortable experience. However, there are some sections with gentle inclines and uneven terrain, so sturdy footwear is essential, along with water and sun cream.
As you embark on the Dove Lake Circuit, you'll be greeted by the majestic sight of Cradle Mountain towering over the still waters of the lake. The trail winds its way around the lake's perimeter, providing stunning vistas at every turn. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, as you might spot wallabies, wombats, or even platypi.
Dove Lake combined with the dramatic backdrop of Cradle Mountain creates countless opportunities for stunning shots. Whether you're a seasoned photographer or simply enjoy capturing memories, you'll find yourself snapping away throughout the walk.
