Butterfly Falls is a tranquil oasis perfect for nature lovers and adventure seekers. This seasonal waterfall creates a natural swimming pool at its base, offering a refreshing respite from the outback heat. Be sure to check with the park ranger that there is water before making the trek out.
Upon arrival, you're greeted by the soothing sound of cascading water and the sight of the crystal-clear pool at the base of the falls. Butterfly Falls is the only safe swimming spot in Limmen National Park, making it a popular destination for cooling off. Surrounding the falls are shady picnic areas, composting toilets, and bush camping facilities, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing day or even camp overnight under the stars.
Besides enjoying a dip in the pool, Butterfly Falls is famous for birdwatching and photography. The area around the falls is teeming with diverse bird species and vibrant butterflies.
