When in Port Campbell, your must-do is visiting the twelve apostles. 20 million years ago, these rock formations were torn from Victoria’s rugged limestone cliffs by the turbulent Southern Ocean. Now, only 7 still exist and erosion is quickly eradicating them.
What to expect:
Arches and stacks of rocks were separated from the cliffs by gradual erosion, some up to 50 meters in height. Funny story, prior to 1922, these formations were known as "Sow and Piglets" then renamed to Apostles. Their significance in the area and glamour now make this the quintessential photo for saying, you've have been to the Great Ocean Drive.
For more nature, head out to London Bridge, The Grotto, and Loch Ard Gorge. London Bridge was formed over hundreds of years through natural erosion from the wind and sea. Also known as the London Arch, what connected it to the mainland collapsed in 1990, and two stranded tourists had to be picked up by helicopter. Loch Ard Gorge is a climb down to the beach and looks out to the rocky islands of the Shipwreck Coast. This is usually a no swim spot, but on calm days can provide you one of the best settings for a quick swim. The Grotto holds its fame with its arch like no other that produces a fantastic instagram moment. The best thing, it is a little out of town and less visited. IF you are lucky, you might get the site to yourself. The Grotto is part blowhole, part archway, part cave. The Grotto is accessed by a decked stairway that leads down from the viewing platform at the top. top tip is to visit at sunset to catch a glimpse of the sun disappearing through the archway of the rock formation.
Exploring the beaches especially near The Grotto at dusk, you might get lucky by spotting Fairy Penguins as hundreds congregate along the beach, looking like their making their way to the bar for a few more drinks before the next day’s fishing.

Great scenery, can be very busy with tourists. Went on a Saturday and the lookout was packed. Parking was tricky due to how busy it gets. Still worth the trouble, make sure you go down to the beach if possible.
